Baseball

Squirts

Squirts is geared towards boys and girls 3-4 years old who want to begin to learn the fundamentals (catching, throwing, hitting, and base running) of the game of baseball. It is a child/parent participation program meaning parents will work with their child both in the field and at bat. Teams will consist of approximately five (5) players. Every child will bat every inning and scores will not be kept. Players provide a glove, but LSLL supplies a uniform (jersey and hat) that the player keeps. Games are played Fridays at 6 PM. Practices are at the coach's discretion. Cost for the season is $75.

Coed T-Ball

Coed T-ball is geared toward boys and girls 4-6 years old who want to learn the fundamentals of hitting and fielding. In T-Ball, players hit a soft Incrediball baseball off of a batting tee. We encourage coaches to pitch underhand as the season progresses to continue the development of skills . Every player plays in the field and bats each inning. To encourage sportsmanship and keep the games moving along, we do not keep score in T-Ball. We focus on the experience and the value of teamwork. Also, the rules of the game may be varied to accommodate the need for teaching. Players provide a glove and baseball pants, but LSLL supplies a uniform (jersey and hat) that the player keeps. Games are played Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 PM as well as several Saturday mornings in June.
